The Blood Tribe, via Aohkii (2018) Ltd., Adds 3,000 Irrigated Acres, Fueling Additional Expansion for the Forage Operation

Stand Off, AB: (March 19th, 2021): Kainai Forage is pleased to announce that through the fall and winter of 2020 and continuing into Spring of 2021 the Blood Tribe (Aohkii) has added 3,000 acres of irrigated land to the on-Reserve forage program.  

The expansion of acreage brings the total on-Reserve irrigated acres dedicated to forage production to approximately 25,000.  Kainai Forage expects that for the 2021 growing season there will be 12,200 irrigated acres in forage and is on track to convert the remaining irrigated acres over the following 3 years.

The increase in irrigated acres will allow Kainai Forage to meet its growth targets of processing over 100,000 Metric Tonnes (“MT”) of premium forage per annum.  Kainai Forage and its partners are continuing to expand their operations to meet the demand for their product.
